The girl was playing with fire is the second volume of the late Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy, publisher Mikael Blomkvist and the police conduct parallel investigations of three horrific crimes – and the first evidence of the information straight to young computer genius and social misfit Lisbeth Salander. Kalle Blomkvist Bastard (Salander, who has begun to refer to him) has seen the Salander in almost two years, but one evening when he happened to witness a big man trying to kidnap and both it and the attacker escaped . They are confused as to why stopped cold, but had accepted the decision – so far. Does Salander killed the victims. Well, at least two of them. He has to touch, learn how it dragged on, and assistance. Salander, as usual, has his own ideas about who or she should see and when. . . .
The Girl with the Dragon tattoo, work Larsson Blomkvist and Salander and unraveled a twisted story of greed, fascist connections and perverse sex and violence. FIRE highlights another issue that Larsson wanted to shine light, that the vulnerability of the sex trade, a porridge of human suffering imposed on easy money and loathing for women. Blomkvist magazine, Millennium is planning an issue devoted to the subject based on interviews and reporting of criminologist and journalist, and follows much internal debate about gruesome material and how it should be presented to the public. But the three murders turn the magazine and its people on their heads.
If traveling Salander, change appearance, and matures in the early chapters of the book 569 pages covering a total of four months and told in four parts. Among the job: to try to prove Fermat’s last theorem of Fermat way he would have done, that the new house, and keep track Bjurman (which remembers the memorable tattoos DRAGON). Then disappears several spelling murder investigation can begin, and finally it regains spotlight as the book rushes headlong into a heart-set resolution.
The last book in the series – tentatively titled The Girl Who kicked Hornet’s Nest in English translation – not scheduled for release in 2010. Instead, the entire trilogy has been published in Swedish (of course), French and German. Larson allegedly planned ten volume series. He had written a part of the fourth book and go out with volume five, six and seven. Unfortunately, due to premature death, is the only complete trilogy and, according to his father, to be published. After reading FIRE, creeping thought that maybe the trilogy will not bring closure, and that the reader could be left dangling, unhappy. It would be unfortunate because Salander and Blomkvist – along with other continuing characters – does not dig deeply into the browser (at least this reader) feeling. Fortunately, young who have read in other languages mentioned above, the whole story arc, and the end of the novel, seem generally very happy. Some argue that the last book, even the largest, is a grand finale to answer all outstanding questions. Some are less enthusiastic, stating that the last book can not match the amount of the provision set out by the extraordinary, unusual for the first time.
Last criticism can be applied to the second book also. FIRE does not pack quite the scoring in only DRAGON did. One can perhaps think of the film trilogy The Matrix, Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolution and, as an analogy. The film opened smash impressed with peculiar perspective. The second and third are very stable, even stunning, a partner, but recurrent advanced magic is so new to the Matrix, based on it, not invent something mind-blowingly fresh. Intimacy takes a bit of the bloom from the rose, but really do not breed contempt in this case. FIRE Larsson is slightly below the middle part where the criminal process along and grind belabors writer some points seem to think readers are novices in the mysteries of crime. But everything is FIRE accelerate the magical story of Michael and Lisbeth with elegance. It can not be thinking about the world we live in is very slimy, very evil, but Larsson was a man of many crusades and causes, and the trilogy, the bright harsh picture of society which hopes to reform. Millennium Trilogy includes incompatible social criticism, biting excitement and curiosity, bittersweet romance. FIRE drew me like a butterfly, and I can not wait to get my hands on the horn. 4th 4 stars.

I found this book to be a constant then The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, in fact, I could have always liked it better than the first.
In this book we learn more about Salander. Artfully displayed throughout the novel, pieces of the background to appear until the end of a complete picture has emerged. Some statisfying, some not so good. Some items are easy to guess early.
It’s fascinating character, though a part was my favorite book, (even those parts which were obviously empty, meaningless and not resolved). They are smart, strong, weak underdog, and you can not help rooting for her.
This book takes a lot of questions. Sex trade, media, police corruption, wrongdoing, and on. I like it because it keeps your interest, but sometimes it was all fields. Particularly interesting for me is to learn more about the Swedish culture throughout the book.
What is the best book is the pace. I kept in jail throughout the 569 pages (in my copy), and I could not go to bed until I finished. This is a well made thriller.
By the way, I do not think you need to have read The Girl With the Dragon tattoo First of all, but it certainly would be preferable.
Looking forward to the 3rd, and regretted that will be the last. This is a very interesting series.

This is a follow-up The Girl With The Dragon tattoo. I suggest you read that one first, even though this novel is reasonable.
The book begins with Lisbeth Salander enjoy recently tore the lazy wealth in a hotel in Granada. Nobody knows where (as usual), and back in Sweden, is the journal of the Millennium, is preparing a speech on sex slaves in Sweden. The journalist, who is preparing exhibit is murdered along with his partner, and the legal guardian of Salander. Salander, now back in Sweden is suspected and the police hunt.
To say things get complicated from this point is an understatement. There are several studies (Salander, of course, the police and MILLENNIUM-s), multiple suspects, multiple murders, abundant red herrings, and just general chaos. Dark, because all this is actually quite funny in places: the police have no idea what will happen, though well-intentioned and competent investigator at the end.
This is great fun for the reader. It’s like anything remotely sad (possibly suffering from realism) have been dropped, but despite jumping hour capacity novels (I read too fast, you need to read it again), it still has the opportunity to inform.
to buy it to read it once and then read it again.

This is the second book in the series Millennium created by Stieg Larsson. The story revolves around the human trafficing and sex in Sweden and the murder of three people with links to character of Lisbeth Salander.
I found this to be a pleasant (even worse) The continuation of “Dragon”. Even if you do not need to read the Dragon, will recommend. For my money there (Dragon) is the parent to read.
Lisbeth Salander character is a very interesting main character. When Lisbeth out for the girl who played with fire, the story seems to be moving – if not, pull the story.
Mikael Blomqvist, Erica Berger, characters, etc. and how Steig Larsson has created and developed the characters looked deeper, fresher and has more substance in the first novel. I thought the first book had better focus, speed, fewer wires hanging was more complicated writing and had better overall story.
With that said, the continuity is good, not great, read. My recommendation is to read The Girl With The Dragon tattoo First, since this novel to fully appreciate the world created by Steig Larsson.

This is the second after the “Steig Larsson Millennium” trilogy. I was hooked in the first series, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, I decided to send to www. Amazon. Co. Uk for this sequel, because I was not willing to wait until July for the American version of the English version. These days the pound has been kicked around so much that the dollar, so I ended up paying almost everything to pay the United States, and shipping fee was minimal.
I really can not wait to crack 700 — volume page to review the evidence: Mikael Blomqvist, the heroic investigative journalist, Lisbeth Salander, a Petite Powerhouse hit (or gifted) syndrome Asperger, Erika Berger, fearless editor and Blomqvist time bedmate and intrepid staff of the magazine, “Millennium. “Whereas” Dragon tattoo “was largely Blomqvist and the search for a presumed-dead heiress, this sequel focuses exclusively on Salander and difficult adjustment to the community. At the end of the first book, she left suddenly unfaithful lover Blomqvist . continues disgust of the “The girl was playing with fire” ignore it, hanging in his cell phone conversation, throwing out letters, and otherwise pretend it does not exist. He has broken his heart and Lisbeth Salander is not one to forgive. < ; br /> However, learns quickly that needs friends – many of them – like a tightening noose tightens around risk, which consists of the evil guardian of Nils Bjurman, a core poor social services-doctors and psychiatrists, some less real police officers, members-Hells Angels-like motorcycle gangs, and a mysterious figure known only as Zala. When one of the best journalists Blomqvist and his wife have been broken, the police found fingerprints Salander on the gun and hunt is on – the whole police force, and many others after the bad guys.
Larsson in line with bated breath the whole story, which depends on a miserable sex trade trafficking. Even when he stops to explain what is at stake and how the «Millennium» will include the history, never slows down traffic. We believe that in a novel length, there will be countless subplot, but there are really too many topics to follow. previously degraded sad chapter by chapter Salander and Blomqvist get to the bottom of the police and illegal international espionage. But nothing is the focus of the hunt that Salander is not quite so brilliant.
I am sure there are things that a skilled editor can do to strengthen prose Larsson. He puts a love affair and too many draws from the tense end to a breaking point. It may not seem surprising that the Swedes, but Larsson’s habit of using the name of each character is very confused because everyone is Andersson Ericsson and Nilsson. The monotony is amazing. It is impossible to even know the sex of the character.
I am familiar with this problem personally, my grandfather changed his surname because there were too many Nilsson at Army. Choose a name that was a little more special. Larsson could have learned a lesson there. Using some first names and it will also solve the problem. nice
But this is the nitpicks. I look forward to any news that the English version of the final version of the «Millennium» trilogy is available. These books are equally good.
