  1. M. Rondeau Says:

Environment – Virginia Colony, 1643 — Lady Constance Morrow hidden on board a vessel lacking apron to say goodbye to his beloved uncle of Skelly to be transferred to the colonies. Naive to think nobody would ever harm the daughter of the crown, had no idea of risk was in. As the girl left behind, and no butler in sight, the ruthless captain, had thrown in the hold with female offenders who were intended as “tobacco brides” for settler farmers.

Drew O’Connor grew up loving country in the colonies, but knew it was a hard life and had experienced all the joys and sorrows with knew very well that only the strongest survive. After losing his beloved, one week before their wedding, which was vowed not to love again. Therefore, it was moved by this new ship full of brides, was just looking for a maid to look after home and take care of the young sister. Even after a lot of cards that night , and ended with was a woman who claims to be “kidnapped” daughter of the Earl, and that requires immediate return to England. It was not just that it was argumentative, but had no idea how to cook, clean, not skills completely – and the horror – had red hair and freckles! wanted nothing more than to spend time doing mathematical equations rather than housework.

Even if it seems to have nothing the public, but individual stubbornness and love for math puzzles, Drew and Constance came to admire each other they both want their marriages would be a marriage designed to force the truth from the great love of God.

*** In a most delightful way, this new author has a little piece of American history and created a wonderful romance. The heroine, Lady Constance, but educated and intelligent was the culture shock of life, when faced with the harsh reality of life in early colonial America. The pampered daughter of the Earl, the author clearly had their honor, to reflect both frustration Constance came when struggling to adjust to new life and joy as the to overcome these challenges. Drew, also had strong moral lost so many loved ones and buried many thought that the best way to protect his heart was not to be involved and the issue of faith in God during the trials were very encouraging very nice indeed. The book is well written, well structured, engaged and contained two wonderful actors. Together with a wonderful secondary characters, the author opens the door for what I hope to see is a sequel featuring his brother Josh Drew. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a very good and lovely feel good read. – Marilyn, on www. plans romance. com —

  2. Kristi Ahlers Says:

Lady Constance Morrow, daughter of Count Greyham was detained on ships sailing to Virginia is not the apron, or paper with information, which is so that when the sea colonies is shocked and not very happy to know that they sold tobacco . If this is not enough insult, has won in a card game and the new captain is not what she expected. This is expected to take back his life when he spoke with the governor. It is to learn about life in the colonies is very different from England

Drew O’Conner knows that only the strong survive in the new world. He has lost the love of his life and not interested in marriage. . . ever. Thus, when reluctant winner of Constance, who go home only to discover that he can not cook, how to keep house and have a sassy mouth argumentative. And has red hair and freckles! But some how these two very different people to learn to appreciate each other and marriage is more than ever thought it could be.

Ms. GIST is an excellent complement to the kind of inspirational romance. Its history is full of heart and emotion. Drew and Constance proceed characters and their romance really is a wonderful read. Ms. Gist has done his research on time and as a result the reader will feel transported to the colony of Virginia. This is a writer, I recommend and I look forward to reading the future.

  3. J. Queen Says:

This book was exactly what I was looking for. I like historical novels, but read “romance” books because they are always full of sex. This book failed to demonstrate attraction between the characters are not resorting to the “throbbing member” descriptions in other romance novels. I think the author tries a little too late in history to throw a Christian message, and I found some of the dialogue a little cheesy, but overall this was a good book, and I fought with it for about 2 days. I recommend it.

  4. K. Says:

Although sometimes rather cheesy and predictable, but this book fascinating and quite entertaining. Much of the dialogue is simplistic and will result in an eye-roll or two, but can easily be overlooked because of the exercise plot twists and characters that keep you turning pages quickly.
While reading, I kept thinking of the series PBS “Colonial House”, which helped the images and settings to come alive for me, and actually the details that the author researched and included in the novel .
In addition, the reproduction of Christianity and God in this book very well done, realistic and relatable, not hit-you-over-the-head juicy.
It’s so refreshing to read a historical novel Christian “who so wonderful for all three parts! Overall a very well done and lovely book!

  5. Shellie Says:

I read reviews before I bought this book, and waited for this terrible “desire” to begin. . . I do not get it. First of all, marriage and marriage! I do not think there is something wrong with a man and a woman attracted to one another, especially if they are married!
never even understood what these ladies were talking about all I saw was an attraction, and not lust. Someone said that the characters are exactly like each other, and there is no love. . . I think the writer has shown the love grows. . . like any marriage, starting by doing, will never get an immediate love, love is something that takes time. Physical attractiveness on the other hand, can occur much earlier, which is what the author has shown.

I liked the book, it would be easy to read. Someone else pointed out historical inaccuracies, which may be true, but still enjoy the book. I love the friction between the two main characters, making it a fascinating and sometimes hilarious!
